To be honest, an umbrella is not a winter garment, but it is a winter item that we use to protect ourselves when it rains.
לְמַעַן הָאֱמֶת, מִטְרִיָּה זֶה לֹא בֶּגֶד לַחוֹרֶף, אֲבָל זֶה פָּרִיט חוֹרְפִּי שֶׁאֲנַחְ נוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בּוֹ כְּדֵי לְהָגֵן עַל עַצְמֵנוּ כְּשֶׁיֵּשׁ גֶּשֶׁם.
It is possible to see in the word umbrella the word מָטָר. מָטָר = rain.
אֶפְשָׁר לִרְאוֹת בְּתוֹךְ הַמִּילָּה מִטְרִיָּה אֶת הַמִּילָּה מָטָר. מָטָר=גֶּשֶׁם.
I remember that when I was a child, I used to take an umbrella on a rainy day. If there was strong wind, I would hold the umbrella stick firmly, but the wind would blow the umbrella cover upwards and I would get wet from the rain!
אֲנִי זוֹכֶרֶת שֶׁכְּשֶׁהָיִיתִי יַלְדָּה, נָהַגְתִּי לָקַחַת מִטְרִיָּה בְּיוֹם גָּשׁוּם. אִם הָיְתָה רוּחַ חֲזָקָה הָיִיתִי מַחֲזִיקָה אֶת מַקֵּל הַמִּטְרִיָּה חָזָק, אֲבָל הָרוּחַ הֵעִיפָה אֶת הַכִּיסּוּי שֶׁל הַמִּטְרִיָּה לְמַעֲלָה וַאֲנִי הָיִיתִי נִרְטֶבֶת מֵהַגֶּשֶׁם!
Sometimes you can get a beverage with an umbrella, but this umbrella will not help you against the rain!
לִפְעָמִים אַתֶּם יְכוֹלִים לְקַבֵּל כּוֹס מַשְׁקֶה עִם מִטְרִיָּה, אֲבָל הַמִּטְרִיָּה הַזֹּאת לֹא תַּעֲזוֹר לָכֶם נֶגֶד הַגֶּשֶׁם!
