Rolled up his sleeves
If I'm wearing a long-sleeved shirt and I want to wash the dishes (for example..) then I have to pull the sleeves up so they don't get wet.
אִם אֲנִי לוֹבֶשֶׁת חוּלְצָה עִם שַׁרְווּלִים אֲרוּכִּים וַאֲנִי רוֹצָה לִשְׁטוֹף אֶת הַכֵּלִים (לְמָשָׁל..) אָז אֲנִי צְרִיכָה לִמְשׁוֹךְ אֶת הַשַּׁרְווּלִים לְמַעְלָה כְּדֵי שֶׁהֵם לֹא יֵרָטְבוּ.
We use this expression to tell someone: Come on! To work!
אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה כְּדֵי לְהַגִּיד לְמִישֶׁהוּ: קָדִימָה! לַעֲבוֹדָה!
We can also use this expression when it's not about physical work. For example: if you have to do homework or submit a paper at university.
אֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה גַּם כְּשֶׁלֹּא מְדוּבָּר עַל עֲבוֹדָה פִיזִית. לְמָשָׁל: אִם צָרִיךְ לְהָכִין שִׁיעוּרֵי בַּיִת אוֹ לְהַגִּישׁ עֲבוֹדָה בָּאוּנִיבֶרְסִיטָה.
So if you have some kind of physical or verbal work and you've been putting it off for a long time, then stop putting it off. It's time to roll up your sleeves!
אָז אִם יֵשׁ לָכֶם אֵיזוֹשֶׁהִיא עֲבוֹדָה פִיזִית אוֹ מִילּוּלִית וְאַתֶּם דּוֹחִים אוֹתָהּ כְּבָר זְמַן רַב, אָז מַסְפִּיק לִדְחוֹת. הִגִּיעַ הַזְּמַן לְהַפְשִׁיל שַׁרְווּלִים!
