To dream
The infinitive “to dream” is used both when we talk about the natural phenomenon of people dreaming at night while they sleep, and also about people’s desires and aspirations—things they want to achieve in life.
בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לַחֲלוֹם' אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים גַּם כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מְדַבְּרִים עַל הַתּוֹפָעָה הַטִּבְעִית שֶׁל אֲנָשִׁים שנוֹהֲגִים לַחֲלוֹם בַּלַּיְלָה כְּשֶׁהֵם יְשֵׁנִים, וְגַם עַל רְצוֹנוֹת וּמִשְׁאֲלוֹת שֶׁל אֲנָשִׁים שֶׁהֵם רוֹצִים לְהַשִּׂיג בַּחַיִּים.
Throughout all the years of exile, the Jewish people never stopped dreaming of Jerusalem, praying and hoping to return to it.
בְּכָל שְׁנוֹת גָּלוּתוֹ עַם יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא הִפְסִיק לַחֲלוֹם עַל יְרוּשָׁלַיִם, לְהִתְפַּלֵּל וּלְקַוּוֹת לַחֲזוֹר אֵלֶיהָ.
Some people love to dream about all kinds of things they want to achieve in life. Sometimes they stop dreaming and begin to fulfill those dreams.
יֵשׁ אֲנָשִׁים שֶׁאוֹהֲבִים לַחֲלוֹם עַל כָּל מִינֵי דְּבָרִים שֶׁהֵם רוֹצִים לְהַשִּׂיג בַּחַיִּים. לִפְעָמִים הֵם מַפְסִיקִים לַחֲלוֹם וּמַתְחִילִים לְהַגְשִׁים אֶת הַדְּבָרִים ה ָאֵלֶּה.
Others tend to dream all kinds of dreams that have no chance of coming true, but even if there’s no chance, I want to say to them: Don’t stop dreaming!!
יֵשׁ אֲחֵרִים שֶׁנּוֹהֲגִים לַחֲלוֹם כָּל מִינֵי חֲלוֹמוֹת שֶׁאֵין סִיכּוּי שֶׁהֵם יַצְלִיחוּ לְהַגְשִׁים, אֲבָל אֲפִילּוּ אִם אֵין סִיכּוּי, אֲנִי רוֹצָה לוֺמַר לָהֶם: אַל תַּפְסִיקוּ לַחֲלוֹם!!
Here are some sentences using the infinitive “to dream”:
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם שֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לַחֲלוֹם':
1. Some people prefer not to dream at all, because every new hope reminds them of old disappointments.
1. יֵשׁ אֲנָשִׁים שֶׁמַּעֲדִיפִים לֹא לַחֲלוֹם בִּכְלָל, כִּי כָּל תִּקְוָה חֲדָשָׁה מַזְכִּירָה לָהֶם אֶת הָאַכְזָבוֹת הַיְּשָׁנוֹת.
2. She kept dreaming—not because reality was perfect, but because her faith was stronger than her fear.

3. They learned to dream big, because they understood that the world only changes when someone dares to see it differently.
3. הֵם לָמְדוּ לַחֲלוֹם בְּגָדוֹל, כִּי הֵבִינוּ שֶׁהָעוֹלָם מִשְׁתַּנֶּה רַק כְּשֶׁמִּישֶׁהוּ מֵעֵז לִרְאוֹת אוֹתוֹ אַחֶרֶת.
4. He received a job offer so enviable that his friends could only dream of it.
4. הוּא קִבֵּל הַצָּעַת עֲבוֹדָה מְעוֹרֶרֶת קִנְאָה שֶׁחֲבֵרָיו יְכוֹלִים רַק לַחֲלוֹם עָלֶיהָ.
