A dustpan - Dustpans
The dustpan (ya’eh) is basically a trash scoop. After finishing the sweeping process (with the broom), we use the dustpan to lift the dirt we collected and transfer it into the trash bin.
הַיָּעֶה הוּא בְּעֶצֶם כַּף אַשְׁפָּה.
אַחֲרֵי שֶׁסִּיַּמְנוּ אֶת פְּעוּלַּת הַטִּאְטוּא (עִם הַמַּטְאֲטֵא) אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בְּיָעֶה כְּדֵי לְהָרִים אֶת הַלִּכְלוּךְ שֶׁאָסַפְנוּ אֶל תּוֹךְ פַּח הַזֶּבֶל.

רוֹצִים טִיפּ לְשִׁימּוּשׁ יָעִיל בְּיָעֶה?
בָּחֲרוּ יָעֶה עִם גּוּמִי בְּתַחְתִּיתוֹ, כְּדֵי לְהַבְטִיחַ מַגָּע טוֹב יוֹתֵר עִם הָרִצְפָּה וְלֶאֱסוֹף בִּיעִילוּת רַבָּה יוֹתֵר אֶת הַלִּכְלוּךְ.
In the Temple, the dustpan was used to collect ashes from the altar. "And he made all the vessels of the altar, the pots and the dustpans, and the bowls, the forks..." (Exodus 35:3)
הַיָּעֶה שִׁמֵּשׁ בְּבֵית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ לֶאֱסוֹף אֶת הָאֵפֶר מֵהַמִּזְבֵּחַ.

During the ceremony of checking for chametz, on the night following the 13th of Nisan, it is customary to use a special dustpan to collect breadcrumbs that were found. Traditionally, the dustpan is burned together with the chametz the next morning.
