To light
If I enter the house at night and it is dark, I need to turn on the light.
אִם אֲנִי נִכְנֶסֶת הַבַּיְתָה בַּלַּיְלָה וְיֵשׁ חוֹשֶׁךְ, אֲנִי צְרִיכָה לְהַדְלִיק אֶת הָאוֹר.
On 33rdday of the Omer, we traditionally light bonfires. On Independence Day, we love to light the grill to prepare barbecue.
בְּל"ג בָּעוֹמֶר אֲנַחְנוּ נוֹהֲגִים לְהַדְלִיק מְדוּרוֹת. וּבְיוֹם הָעַצְמָאוּת אֲנַחְנוּ אוֹהֲבִים מְאוֹד לְהַדְלִיק אֵשׁ בַּמַּנְגָּל כְּדֵי לְהָכִין בָּשָׂר "עַל הָאֵשׁ".
If I want to listen to the news, I can turn on the radio, and if I feel like watching a show I enjoy, I can turn on the television.
אִם אֲנִי רוֹצָה לִשְׁמוֹעַ חֲדָשׁוֹת, אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לְהַדְלִיק אֶת הָרַדְיוֹ, וְאִם בָּא לִי לִצְפּוֹת בְּתוֺכְנִית שֶׁאֲנִי אוֹהֶבֶת אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לְהַדְלִיק אֶת הַטֶּלֶוִיזְיָה.
If someone wants to provoke me and says all sorts of annoying things, they might be trying to "ignite" me, meaning to make me angry or upset.
