To enlist
Every young man and woman in Israel, upon reaching the age of 18, must enlist in the army. Enlisting in the army means contributing to the country.
כָּל נַעַר וְנַעֲרָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּהַגִיעַם לְגִיל 18, צְרִיכִים לְהִתְגַּיֵּס לַצָּבָא.
לְהִתְגַּיֵּס לַצָּבָא פֵּירוּשׁוֹ לִתְרוֹם לַמְּדִינָה.
There are boys and girls who are not obligated to enlist due to health issues, but they refuse to give up and do everything they can to enlist.
יֵשׁ נְעָרִים וּנְעָרוֹת שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם חוֹבָה לְהִתְגַּיֵּס בִּגְלַל בְּעָיוֹת בְּרִיאוּת, אֲבָל הֵם לֹא מוּכָנִים לְוַתֵּר וְעוֹשִׂים כָּל שֶׁבִּיכוֹלְתָּם כְּדֵי לְהִתְגַּיֵּס.
