To fight
The infinitive "to fight" can be used in both a physical and a metaphorical sense.
בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל לְהִלָּחֵם אֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ גַּם בַּמַּשְׁמָעוּת הַפִיזִית וְגַם בְּמַשְׁמָעוּת מֵטָאפוֹרִית.
In the physical sense, we say: "Our brave soldiers go out to fight in order to protect the country."
בַּמַּשְׁמָעוּת הַפִיזִית אֲנַחְנוּ נֹאמַר: הַחַיָּלִים הַגִּיבּוֹרִים שֶׁלָּנוּ יוֹצְאִים לְהִלָּחֵם כְּדֵי לְהָגֵן עַל הַמְּדִינָה.
We know about the actions of the partisans who tried to fight against the Germans during World War II.
אֲנַחְנוּ יוֹדְעִים עַל פְּעוּלּוֹת שֶׁל הַפַּרְטִיזָנִים שֶׁנִּסּוּ לְהִלָּחֵם בַּגֶּרְמָנִים בִּזְמַן מִלְחֶמֶת הָעוֹלָם הַשְּׁנִיָּה.
In the metaphorical sense, we say: "We want to fight antisemitism," which means we must take various actions to ensure that hatred towards Jews ceases.
