To vacuum
When we use the infinitive "לשאוב", we usually refer to cleaning with a vacuum cleaner.
כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בְּשֵׁם הַפֺּעַל לִשְׁאוֹב, אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְכַּוְּנִים לְנִקָּיוֹן בְּעֶזְרַת שׁוֹאֵב אָבָק.
In the past, when there were no water taps in houses, people had to draw water from the well. This was a very difficult task, both drawing the waterusing buckets and carrying the full buckets back home.
בֶּעָבָר, כְּשֶׁלֹּא הָיוּ בִּרְזֵי מַיִם בַּבָּתִּים, אֲנָשִׁים הָיוּ צְרִיכִים לִשְׁאוֹב מַיִם מֵהַבְּאֵר. זֹאת הָיְתָה עֲבוֹדָה קָשָׁה מְאוֹד. גַּם לִשְׁאוֹב אֶת הַמַּיִם מֵהַבְּאֵר בְּאֶמְצָעוּת דְּלָיִים וְגַם לִסְחוֹב אֶת הַדְּלָיִים הַמְּלֵאִים בְּמַיִם אֶל הַבַּיִת.
I can also use this infinitive metaphorically when I want to express that a topic deeply engages me. For example, if I start working on an curriculum for my courses, I might say that it "draws me in," and I continue doing it for many hours.
אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בְּשֵׁם הַפֺּעַל הַזֶּה גַּם בְּאוֹפֶן מֵטָאפוֹרִי כְּשֶׁאֲנִי רוֹצָה לְהַגִּיד שֶׁיֵּשׁ נוֹשֵׂא שֶׁמּוֹשֵׁךְ אוֹתִי. לְמָשָׁל: אִם אֲנִי מַתְחִילָה לְהָכִין תּוׄכְנִית לִימּוּדִים זֶה יָכוֹל לִשְׁאוֹב אוֹתִי וַאֲנִי אַמְשִׁיךְ לַעֲשׂוֹת אֶת זֶה שָׁעוֹת רַבּוֹת.
The infinitive "לשאוב" can also mean to take inspiration or ideas. For example, I usually draw ideas for my lesson plans from real-life experiences.
שֵׁם הַפֹּעַל לִשְׁאוֹב מַשְׁמָעוּתוֹ הִיא גַּם לָקַחַת רַעֲיוֹנוֹת. לְמָשָׁל: אֲנִי נוֹהֶגֶת לִשְׁאוֹב אֶת הָרַעֲיוֹנוֹת לְתוׄכְנִיּוֹת הַלִּימּוּדִים שֶׁלִּי מֵהַחַיּ ִים עַצְמָם.
Here are some sentences using the infinitive "לשאוב":

1. To keep carpets clean, you can use a strong vacuum cleaner that will help suck up the dust and dirt that has accumulated over time.

3. To understand a topic better, it's a good idea to draw information from different sources—read books, listen to podcasts, and talk to experts who can provide valuable insights.
3. כְּדֵי לְהָבִין נוֹשֵׂא מְסוּיָּם בְּצוּרָה טוֹבָה יוֹתֵר, כְּדַאי לִשְׁאוֹב מֵידָע מִמְּקוֹרוֹת שׁוֹנִים, לִקְרוֹא סְפָרִים, לִשְׁמוֹעַ פּוֹדְקַסְטִים, וּלְדַבֵּר עִם מוּמְחִים שֶׁיְּכוֹלִים לָתֵת תּוֹבָנוֹת חֲשׁוּבוֹת.
