Noon
Noon is actually only 12:00 exactly. Even 12:01 is already after noon.
הַצָּהֳרַיִם הֵם בְּעֶצֶם רַק הַשָּׁעָה 12:00 בְּדִיּוּק. אֲפִילּוּ 12:01 זֶה כְּבָר אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם.
But in fact, we refer to the hours between 2pm and 4pm as afternoon hours.
אֲבָל בְּעֶצֶם, אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְיַחֲסִים לַשָּׁעוֹת שֶׁבֵּין 14:00 לְ – 16:00 כִּשְׁעוֹת הַצָּהֳרַיִם.
There are people who like to eat a "heavy" lunch. After such a meal, they feel very tired, so they go to rest a bit in the afternoon.
יֵשׁ אֲנָשִׁים שֶׁאוֹהֲבִים לֶאֱכוֹל אֲרוּחַת צָהֳרַיִם "כְּבֵדָה". אַחֲרֵי אֲרוּחָה כָּזֹאת הֵם מַרְגִּישִׁים מַמָּשׁ עֲיֵפִים אָז הֵם הוֹלְכִים לָנוּחַ קְצָת בַּצָּהֳרַיִם.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of the word "afternoon" (צהריים). It should be pronounced TSOHORAYIM and not TSAHARAYIM. The Kamatz under the letter 'צ' is a small Kamatz and its pronunciation is 'O' and the vowel under the letter 'ה' is a Chataf Kamatz and its pronunciation is also 'O'.
שִׂימוּ לֵב לַהֲגִיַּת הַמִּילָּה צָהֳרַיִם. צָרִיךְ לַהֲגוֹת TSOHORAYIM וְלֹא TSAHARAYIM. הַקָּמָץ שֶׁמִּתַּחַת לְאוֹת צ' הוּא קָמָץ קָטָן וַהֲגִיָּתוֹ Oוְהַתְּנוּעָה שֶׁמִּתַּחַת לָאוֹת ה' הִיא חֲטַף קָמָץ וַהֲגִיָּתָהּ גַּם O.
Here are some sentences with the word afternoon:
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם הַמִּילָּה צָהֳרַיִם:
1. We have a tradition at home: every Friday at noon we eat schnitzel and chips or pizza.

4. There are children who go to afternoon daycare after school ends, because their parents are at work. There they receive a hot lunch, they can do their homework and play until the parents come to pick them up.
