Afternoon
Afternoon is already 12:01, but when we talk about afternoon hours, we refer to the hours after 4pm.
אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם זֶה כְּבָר 12:01, אֲבָל כְּשֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ מְדַבְּרִים עַל שְׁעוֹת אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם אֲנַחְנוּ מִתְכַּוְּנִים לַשָּׁעוֹת שֶׁאַחֲרֵי הַשָּׁעָה 16:00.
In Hebrew, we write it as אחה"צ (short for afternoon), but we say אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם(after noon).
בְּעִבְרִית אֲנַחְנוּ מִשְׁתַּמְּשִׁים בִּכְתִיבָה בַּקִּיצּוּר אחה"צ, אֲבָל אוֹמְרִים אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם.
When my children were young, the afternoon hours were the happiest hours of the day. I used to take them to the playground every afternoon.
כְּשֶׁהַיְּלָדִים שֶׁלִּי הָיוּ קְטַנִּים שְׁעוֹת אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם הָיוּ הַשָּׁעוֹת הֲכִי שְׂמֵחוֹת בַּיּוֹם. הָיִיתִי לוֹקַחַת אוֹתָם כָּל יוֹם לְגַן הַשַּׁעֲשׁוּעִים אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם.
When my youngest son was in first grade, he had an after-school class three times a week from 5pm to 6.30pm in the afternoon.
כְּשֶׁהַבֵּן הַקָּטָן שֶׁלִּי הָיָה בְּכִיתָּה א' הָיָה לוֹ חוּג 3 פְּעָמִים בְּשָׁבוּעַ בֵּין הַשָּׁעוֹת 17:00 עַד 18:30 אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם.
Here are some sentences with the expression afternoon:
הִנֵּה כַּמָּה מִשְׁפָּטִים עִם הַבִּיטּוּי אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם:
1. In winter, the afternoon hours are very short because by 5pm it's already dark.
1. בַּחוֹרֶף שְׁעוֹת אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם הֵן מַמָּשׁ קְצָרוֹת כִּי בְּשָׁעָה 17:00 כְּבָר יוֹרֵד הַחוֹשֶׁךְ.
2. In the afternoon, when the sun is no longer so strong and the heat has lessened, it's the perfect time to go out and take a walk.

3. In the afternoon, he wakes up from his afternoon nap feeling refreshed and ready to continue the day, full of renewed energy.
3. אַחֲרֵי הַצָּהֳרַיִם, הוּא מִתְעוֹרֵר מִשְּׁנַת הַצָּהֳרַיִם שֶׁלּוֹ, וּמַרְגִּישׁ רַעֲנָן וּמוּכָן לְהֶמְשֵׁךְ הַיּוֹם, מָלֵא בְּאֵנֶרְגִּיָּה מְחוּדֶּשֶׁת.
4. She works in the morning hours, so she can only meet with me in the afternoon hours.
