Family tree
Many expressions make a comparison between a tree and a person. The expression family tree is also like this. A family tree is essentially a drawing of a person's family.
בִּיטּוּיִים רַבִּים עוֹשִׂים הַשְׁוָאָה בֵּין הָעֵץ לְבֵין הָאָדָם. גַּם הַבִּיטּוּי אִילַן יוֺחֲסִיןהוּא כָּזֶה. אִילַן יוֺחֲסִין הוּא בְּעֶצֶם צִיּוּר הַמִּשְׁפָּחָה שֶׁל הָאָדָם.
Just as a tree has branches that come out of its trunk, we will use a drawing of a tree to describe a person's family.
בְּדִיּוּק כְּמוֹ שֶׁלָּעֵץ יֵשׁ עֲנָפִים שֶׁיּוֹצְאִים מִן הַגֶּזַע שֶׁלּוֹ כָּךְ אֲנַחְנוּ נִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בְּצִיּוּר שֶׁל עֵץ כְּדֵי לְתָאֵר אֶת הַמִּשְׁפָּחָה שֶׁל הָאָדָם.
In the family tree, we will write the person's name, next to it the name of his wife, below them the names of their children, on the sides we will write the names of the person's brothers and sisters and his wife and below them the names of their children and so on.
בְּאִילַן הַיּוֺחֲסִין אֲנַחְנוּ נִכְתּוֹב אֶת שְׁמוֹ שֶׁל הָאָדָם, לְיָדוֹ שְׁמָהּ שֶׁל אִשְׁתּוֹ, מִתַּחְתָּם אֶת שְׁמוֹתֵיהֶם שֶׁל יַלְדֵיהֶם, בַּצְּדָדִים נִרְשׁוֹם אֶת הַשֵּׁמוֹת שֶׁל אֶחָיו וְאַחְיוֹתָיו שֶׁל הָאָדָם וְשֶׁל אִשְׁתּוֹ וּמִתַּחְתָּם אֶת שְׁמוֹת יַלְדֵיהֶם וְכָךְ הָלְאָה..
Nowadays there are various websites where you can build a family tree and what is interesting is that you can enter additional information about each person.
בְּיָמֵינוּ יֵשׁ אֲתָרִים שׁוֹנִים בָּהֶם אֶפְשָׁר לִבְנוֹת אֶת אִילַן הַיּוֺחֲסִין וּמָה שֶׁמְּעַנְיֵן הוּא שֶׁאֶפְשָׁר לְהַכְנִיס מֵידָע נוֹסָף עַל כָּל אָדָם.
