Iron wall
The expression "iron wall" refers to aggressive and assertive politics, which purpose is to ensure the security of a country or group using force.
הַבִּיטּוּי "קִיר הַבַּרְזֶל" מִתְיַחֵס לִמְדִינִיּוּת תַּקִּיפָה וּנְחוּשָׁה, שֶׁמַּטְּרָתָהּ לְהַבְטִיחַ אֶת בִּטְחוֹנָהּ שֶׁל מְדִינָה אוֹ קְבוּצָה בְּאֶמְצָעוּת כּוֹחַ.
Ze'ev Jabotinsky first used this expression in his article in the year 1923, where he argued that the only way to ensure Jewish settlement in Israel was through a strong military force.
זְאֵב זַ'בּוֹטִינְסְקִי הִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בַּפַּעַם הָרִאשׁוֹנָה בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה בְּמַאֲמָרוֹ בִּשְׁנַת 1923, שָׁם הוּא טָעַן כִּי הַדֶּרֶךְ הַיְּחִידָה לְהַבְטִיחַ אֶת הַהִתְיַשְּׁבוּת הַיְּהוּדִית בְּאֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל הִיא בְּאֶמְצָעוּת כּוֹחַ צְבָאִי חָזָק.
We can use this expression in wartime contexts, but also in civilian and everyday contexts.
אֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בַּבִּיטּוּי הַזֶּה בְּהֶקְשֵׁרִים שֶׁל מִלְחָמָה, אֲבָל גַּם בְּהֶקְשֵׁרִים אֶזְרָחִיִּים וְיוֹמְיוֹמִיִּים.
For example: There are companies whose cybersecurity is so critical that they are impenetrable. Such companies try to protect themselves from attacks by competitors or other factors, and we can say about these companies that they have established an "iron wall" of security.
לְמָשָׁל: יֵשׁ חֲבָרוֹת שֶׁמַּעֲרַךְ אַבְטָחַת הַסַּיְבֶּר שֶׁלָּהֶם הוּא בִּלְתִּי חָדִיר. חֲבָרוֹת כָּאֵלֶּה מְנַסּוֹת לְהָגֵן עַל עַצְמָן מִפְּנֵי תְּקִיפָה שֶׁל מִתְחָרִים אוֹ גּוֹרְמִים אֲחֵרִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לוֹמַר עַל הַחֲבָרוֹת הָאֵלֶּה שֶׁהֵן הֵקִימוּ "קִיר בַּרְזֶל" שֶׁל אַבְטָחָה.
